Peanut butter balls aka Buckeye Balls

We indulge ourselves with this delicious recipe made in the USA:

peanut butter buckeyes! These are small balls of peanut butter covered with a thin layer of chocolate. They take their name from the name of the fruit of the chestnut trees in Old English because they look a bit the same.

Ingredients :

  • 230 g. icing sugar
  • 200 g. smooth, unsweetened peanut butter
  • 4 tbsp. melted butter
  • the beans of 1 vanilla bean (optional)
  • 2 pinches of fleur de sel
  • 170 g. pastry chocolate

Preparation steps :

1 – Mix the sugar, peanut butter, melted butter, vanilla, and salt in a bowl to obtain a smooth paste. Make small balls of about 4-5 cm. in diameter with the preparation and place them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.

2 – Melt the chocolate in a double boiler (or if you prefer, you can temper it) then plunge the balls one by one, letting a little peanut butter appear on the top.

3 – Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper to let the chocolate dry, then enjoy them whenever you want, for me, it’s with a cup of coffee. Enjoy your meal’
