This homemade, moist cornbread is packed with cheese, garlic, and herbs, making it the perfect side with a bit of a bite. Pair with pasta for a satisfying dinner!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 6 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 6 tbsp melted butter plus more for greasing
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp dry thyme leaves
  • 1 1/2 tsp crushed basil leaves
  • 1 tsp rosemary leaves
  • 1 tsp chopped marjoram
  • 4 cloves crushed garlic

Instructions:

  1. Sift or whisk the flour, cornmeal, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Next add in the eggs, melted butter, oil, and milk.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add in the cheese, garlic, and herbs.
  5. Fold the ingredients.
  6. Grease a 9×13, then pour in the cornbread batter.
  7. Bake at 350 F for 20 – 25 minutes.
